Describe the campaign theme: Refer to the film and the importance of the awareness it discusses. Refer to other sources than the film you were asked to watch. For this project, I was tasked to first watch "the need to grow" documentary on the importance of soil. This doc follows the story of 3 people trying desperately to make a difference to future generations. The doc presents the audience with a vivid understanding of the importance of soil. After watching the doc, I felt like I had seen a glimpse into the future of the planet, and the devastation that lack of care can bring. The films theme was important because it shows hard facts without shying away from controversy. It touches on government conspiracy and the future of humanity. It presents the facts that were killing the environment and shows how we can help reduce the indefinite effects of our issues. Explain how you analysed the film and other sources / knowledge and then selected an aspect / subj...

Print Based Ad : The final product was composed in Adobe Photoshop. The 4 images used were digitally manipulated to appear as if they belong together. This was achieved mostly because of the 'Render - Lighting Effect'. Motion blur helped to sell the effect of our subject moving downwards. HUE, Contrast, Brightness and even Image Curves were altered for each layer to match the intended feel. The background was created by 2 different underwater images double exposed to create a dull washed green hue. I colour picked the colour and brush stroked the lower half of the composition to help remove image static around text and the subject. The subject was removed of his arms and then digitally manipulated with hues and blurs to match the image style. Chains were merged to his arms and the entire layer was 'Lens Blurred' to represent the feeling of death and lack of will to live. This shifts our focus to not only the surface (reminding us why this is happening) but also distance...

Headline Ideas : HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT? THE OCEANS MOST BARBARIC PRACTICE STILL HUNGRY? These are my desired headlines for the ad. I firstly conducted a survey of 206 individuals from around the world. These were the results. Judging from the table, we can determine that 'how would you like it?' was the most liked choice. You might notice how results were divided into 2 categories. People from inside the UK, and People from outside the UK. This information is important because (although we are only advertising in the UK) it gives me an idea of the most effective headline to use outside of the UK.  To put this into perspective, if the most common results for this was 'Still Hungry?' then I would have to change my headline in those areas of the world - to better sell the product. This is why my research is important. Font Choices : My font of choice here is 'IMPACT' this is because I am literally trying to make an impact on the illegal shark finning trade, and so ...

PRODUCT : Before I begin researching basic marketing, I need to look at a product to sell to an audience.  For this, I have chosen illegal shark finning.  Shark finning, is where sharks are removed of their fins and thrown back into the ocean ALIVE. Here they will drown, bleed out and be eaten by other predators. To put this into perspective, approximately 100 million sharks die annually in the illegal finning trade. A bowl of shark fin soup can bring in $100 alone and is a high class staple of Asian etiquette. However, it has been criticised for its cruel and inhumane nature. The practice is illegal in most countries, but is still happening due to the demand in Asia.  My advert will aim to use shock to show an audience how the fins are obtained. Pop Up Ad : Pop up ads are small scale ads that obstruct material. They appear until the user manually shuts them down. They usually have a hyperlink to the website and a close icon. Billboard/Large Print Ad : Print based ad, int...

The Project - To create a  3 part adverting Print based campaign based on the theme given in the first lesson . Based off of 'The need to grow' documentary, I have been tasked with creating 3 print and/or digital Advertorial Awareness campaigns. These have to be related to world issues and I must use Advertising Theory to help better sell my desired product.  These must consist of : Online Web Banner A pop up web banner A sticky web ad A teaser campaign for National Press A DPS Campaign Bus back and side advertising Door-drop Leaflet First Impressions - I believe I will produce an ad relating to the illegal finning of sharks. The idea came to me when I first discovered this Documentary. I believe that the shocking imagery shown in these documentary clips are enough to convince an audience the cruel nature of illegal shark finning. My goal is to recreate this in one single image.  - examples of design style that I have in mind -
